Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said that the PTI government's three years of blind obedience to the IMF could reap no benefits.

In a statement the opposition leader said the government had increased the prices beforehand and consequently its talks with the IMF ended in failure, questioning the government's economic policy.

The government deceived the people and caused confusion for the IMF, he said.

"Despite accepting all the conditions laid down by the IMF, talks with the body still failed," he said in a stement.

Shehbaz condemned the recent hike in the prices of petrol and demanded that the government should withdraw the increase in prices.
