Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz vice president Maryam Nawaz said Prime Minister Imran Khan will not be allowed to become a political martyr, according to a report of Geo.

Maryam told this to media following an appearance in the Islamabad High Court.

She said Khan should not try to "be like Nawaz Sharif" who was an elected prime minister as he came to power with the votes of people. However, the opposition is of the view that incumbent prime minister is "selected".

"Those who have entered into employment contracts, should stick to the terms of their employment," she added, according to the report.

The PML-N leader rhetorically questioned the prime minister's identity and said: "Imran Khan's identity is to conspire against the elected prime minister and to hold a 126-day sit-in."

She was referring to the Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf's (PTI) 2014 sit-in in Islamabad.

Talking about the prime minister's identity, Maryam said it was confined to conspiracies and he had no role to play according to the principles of law and democracy.

The premier will have to "answer for his conspiracies", she added.

Speaking further about the "conspiracies", the PML-N leader said that if the use of "magic" has yielded such success, then it should be put to use to alleviate the petrol, diesel, flour crises.

"If your magic is so successful then why don't you use it for the good of the people?" she asked.

Maryam said there was no rule of law in the country.

She accused the prime minister saying he is "not a constitutionally appointed leader" and added that Khan was "guilty of violating it".

The opposition party leader maintained that her party's struggle was "against individuals like Imran Khan".

She refuted all rumours about differences within the opposition's alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement. "There are no conflicts within PDM," she noted.
