The woman at the centre of the assault at Minar-i-Pakistan, Ayesha Akram, has lodged a complaint with the police in Lahore claiming she's received death threats.

Akram, who was filming a TikTok video in Iqbal Park earlier this year when she was brutally manhandled by hundreds of men and assaulted, says she received calls from unindentified men threatening to kill her if she pursued the harassment case.

She said she's received calls from outside Pakistan since she nominated 8 men in her statement after filing a case following the incident, whose videos went viral and shocked the nation.

The case took a strange turn recently when she nominated her friend known as Rambo as the person who she says planned and instigated the incident. He denies the charge.

She also nominated Ali Shah, a Tiktoker from Rawalpindi, who she says has been blackmailing her for many years. She says they are making the threatening calls.

Since she nominated Rambo, Twitter has been flooded with tweets against her with the hashtag "Ayesha Akram Exposed" trending for several days. They blame her for defaming Pakistan as social media users post leaked calls allegedly between her and Rambo which appear like the duo was planning on extorting money from the men detained by the police as suspects in the assault.
