PSX loses 108 points to close at 44,477 points
ISLAMABAD: The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Friday, losing 108.81 points, with a negative change of 0.24 per cent, closing at 44,477.24 points against 44,586.05 points on the last working day.
A total of 176,069,599 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 296,037,038 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs6.842 billion against Rs10.457 billion the previous day.
As many as 550 companies’ transacted shares in the stock market, 165 of them recorded gain and 369 sustained losses whereas the share price of 16 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with a volume of 18,534,000 shares and price per share of Rs2.53, Telecard Limited with a volume of 14,159,500 and price per share of Rs18.67 and Silk Bank with volume of 9,331,500 and price per share of Rs1.56.
Unilever Foods witnessed a maximum increase of Rs1200 per share, closing at Rs20400. Colgate PalmXB was runner up, share prices of which increased by Rs97.95, closing at Rs2448.
Highnoon (Lab) recorded a maximum decrease of Rs27,82 per share, closing at Rs589.18 followed by Rafhan Maize, the prices of which declined by Rs 25 per share, closing at Rs10,900.
