After the UK government changed travel rules for Pakistan by including the country in "rest of the world list" and it didn't include Chinese vaccines in the approved British jabs, National Command and Operation Centre chief and federal minister Asad Umar slammed the changes by the UK authorities.

In a tweet Umar said: "UK decides gora certificates & vaccines are ok but most non gora vaccine certificates & chinese vaccines are not."

Umar noted that WHO has approved Chinese vaccines but they were not included in the UK approved jabs. He raised the question of colonial mindset over the decision of the British government.

"This despite widespread evidence of fake certificates in US & Europe. Chinese vaccines are WHO approved. Health considerations or hangover of a colonial mindset?" read the tweet.

British government changed travel rules for Pakistan on October 4 as the country was no more on "red list" but it has been added in "rest of the world" list.

According to the new rules, Pakistan was not included in the list of countries whose vaccination certificates are recognised in the UK.

The British government removed Pakistan from the red list and placed it in the amber list on September. However, according to the latest travel advisory, the UK government said it was working with Pakistani officials to recognise the vaccine certificates issued by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

Moreover, the UK has approved only four vaccines for travellers, including AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen.

After changes in the travel advisory, Pakistani travellers to the UK have to

• take a PCR test within 72hrs pre-departure
• isolate for 10 days on arrival, or test to release on day 5
• book day 2/8 PCR tests & complete a passenger locator form
