A Taliban delegation held separate meetings with the envoys of Pakistan, UK and Germany in Doha in the last few days to address concerns related to their governance in Afghanistan.

Taliban swiftly took over Afghanistan on August 15 before the final withdrawal of the US troops in the country. As the international troops left Kabul and the Afghan government supported by the US and its allies fled the country, the international community was worried about the militant group's style of governance witnessed between 1996 to 2001.

A delegation of the Taliban’s Political Office lead by its head Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai arrived at Pakistan’s embassy in Doha on Friday and held a meeting with the ambassador Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, reported APP.

The ambassador also hosted a dinner in honour of the visiting delegation.

The report said the Taliban Political Office head in a flurry of activity had already held meetings with ambassadors of India, Germany and others in the past few days.

Taliban spokesperson for international media Suhail Shaheen confirmed the meetings of Stanikzai with envoys of Pakistan, Germany and UK in multiple series of tweet.

Shaheen said Stanikzai and Shah discussed the Afghan situation, humanitarian assistance and bilateral relations based on mutual interest and respect.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's special representative for Afghan transition, Simon Gass, travelled to Doha to meet with Taliban representatives, reported Reuters.

According to the statement issued ahead of the meeting, Gass would underline “the importance of safe passage out of Afghanistan for British nationals, and those Afghans who have worked with us over the past twenty years."

Shaheen confirmed the meeting of Stanikzai and Gass in tweets and said “humanitarian assistance, political and security topics as well as mutual relations came under discussion.”

In another tweet, Shaheen said Stanikzai in a meeting with German Ambassador to Afghanistan Potzel Markus discussed rehabilitation of the airport and issues related to “economic development and humanitarian assistance”.

However, Markus in a twitter message said the two leaders “spoke about the urgent need to form an inclusive government and prerequisites for future cooperation between Germany and Afghanistan.”
