Against the backdrop of a remix version of Madhaniyan, Junaid Safdar and Aisha Saif's short video of their nikah ceremony was published on Instagram on Tuesday.

The couple tied the knot on August 22 in a lavish ceremony held at The Lanesborough in London.

The groom's parents, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz and Safdar Awan could not attend as they are on the exit control list. Maryam tweeted before the nikah that she would not attend.

Her father Nawaz Sharif was, however, present, front stage and centre as he sat with the happy couple.

Junaid also posted pictures from the event on his Instagram.

Junaid also thanked photographer Zehra Jagani for the images. The UK-based photographer was voted as one of the country's top 50 wedding photographers in 2020.

The couple are reportedly childhood friends who began dating as young adults in London.

Ayesha's father Saifur Rehman served in Sharif's second government where he headed the Ehtisaab Bureau. He then shifted to Qatar where he runs a successful business.

Ayesha was born and raised in Qatar, according to Geo, and went to UCL for her higher studies where enrolled for a degree in civil engineering.

She is listed as a director at Redco, a contracting group in Qatar.
