Twitter responds to Cynthia Ritchie's new show on PTV World
Since publishing a now deleted tweet from PTV World announcing on Monday night a new show by Cynthia Ritchie, Twitter has been set ablaze largely with incredulity.
It appears it was initially filmmaker and journalist Hasan Zaidi's tweet that started the conversation which continued till time of publishing this piece.
The replies ranged in various forms of incredulity, especially about Ritchie's credentials.
Then there were questions regarding the money that will be pumped into this venture.
Ritchie is not new to controversy whether it is for her views on promoting Pakistan's positive image by calling Peshawar safe for women cyclists or her attacks on PTM for being anti-Pakistan or her charging PPP's Rehman Malik with rape. Malik has denied the accusation and in January 2021, the two feuding parties reached an out of court settlement.
Just a fortnight ago, Aaj reported that Ritchie was found unconscious in her Islamabad apartment and taken to hospital for treatment.
And now she's scheduled to host a TV show, details of which haven't been released though she tweeted a reply on August 29 to someone's question about her hosting a show on FM.
As some users pointed out about the PTV show, it's likely to be a Pak-positive one but they didn't seem thrilled about it.
Whatever the content as the journalist pointed out, it's been quite a journey for her.
