All educational institutions in Sindh reopened from today (Monday) with strict implementations of standard operating procedures, after a break of nearly one-and-a-half month.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh Education, Literacy and Colleges Education Department, educational institutions will remain open for six days a week with 50 per cent attendance of students on alternate days.

All heads of educational institutions have been directed to ensure 100 percent vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff, while random PCR testing will be conducted by the health department as and when directed, read the notification.

The provincial government allowed to reopen only those schools whose staff is fully vaccinated, reported Aaj News.

According to the report, parents were asked to submit Covid vaccination certificates in schools. As per the reports, however, few school administrations didn’t allow entry of children whose parents were not vaccinated.

It further said that vigilance teams of the provincial education department were visiting schools for strict implementation of SOPs.

The schools in Sindh were closed on July 16 due to surge of Covid cases in the fourth wave of the pandemic. Since then a large number of schools across the province were conducting online classes.
