Maryam's son Junaid ties the knot in London; protests held outside
Maryam Nawaz and Capt Safdar's son Junaid tied the knot in a hotel in London amid protests held outside the venue.
The parents were not able to attend Junaid's nikah to Aisha, daughter of Saif-ur-Rehman's daughter but PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif sat alongside his grandson during the ceremony.
Saif ur Rehman served as head of the accountability bureau under Nawaz's second government.
Maryam had tweeted the news about her son's nikah and asked for blessings. She had earlier said she would not ask the government for permission to travel.
Murtaza Shah of Geo tweeted images and videos from the event including one of Nawaz Sharif arriving at the hotel for the event.
Dunya News reported that protests were held outside the hotel and there was a scuffle between protestors and Nawaz supporters.
Maryam and Junaid have three children, two daughters and a son.
