Pakistan to minimize staffers in Afghanistan consulates
In view of the security situation, Pakistan on Thursday decided to minimize the strength of staff in Afghanistan’s consulates.
Taking to Twitter, Pakistan’s envoy to Afghanistan Mansoor Ali Khan said due to the security situations the decision was taken.
He further said there was no decision to suspend operations of Pakistan’s Consulates General in Afghanistan.
Also the envoy added the consulates were not facilitating in-person visas to Afghans due to the coronavirus situation, however, online visas were being issued.
Confirming the news to Dawn, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the staff members of the consulates were being asked to move to Kabul for their safety.
