IPEMC decides staggered opening of schools across the country except Sindh
ISLAMABAD: The Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) has decided to gradually reopen educational institutions in all provinces except Sindh.
In a briefing to the media after the IPEMC meeting, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said that exams in all provinces will be held in accordance with the schedules announced by the respective provinces, while Sindh will soon share its new exam schedule, he added.
He said that it has already been decided to keep all the educational institutions in Sindh province closed till August 8. Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani will review the situation of Coronavirus before reopening the educational institutions in the province.
The Education Minister said that people should not listen to the rumors on social media, children s health and education would be taken care of. The next meeting is scheduled for August 25 to review the next course of action, he added.
He also informed that the overall vaccination rate of the education sector stood at around 83pc, but in higher education it was dismally low.
