The AJK Election Commission has directed Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur to leave Azad Kashmir immediately.

The commission sent a letter to the Chief Secretary Thursday saying Gandapur's speeches threatened peace in the region and "provocative rhetoric is disturbing law and order situation."

It also said it was taking steps to take action against those who violate the code of conduct.

Gandapur's convoy came under attack when he was on his way to attend an election rally on Thursday. He was accompanied by PTI leader Murad Saeed when the convoy was pelted with stones and eggs.

The ruling party blamed Nawaz Sharif's supporters saying they knew they would be defeated in the July 25 elections. The N-league denied allegations instead shifting the blame on the AJK Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider, saying he had threatened Murad Saeed from entering his area and because the PTI leader did, his men fired on the convoy.

Haider's spokesperson denied the allegations.

In a fiery speech during campaigning on Tuesday, Gandapur called ZAB a traitor and Nawaz Sharif a dacoit. This caused an uproar in Parliament and Senate the following days with PPP leaders taking exception to Gandapur's language.

"Who are these people who give certificates of treason?" asked PPP leader Sherry Rehman in Wednesday's session.
