RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has sincerely played its key role in Afghan peace process as a facilitator and all allegations being levelled against Islamabad are baseless.

In an interview, Director General Inter Services Public Relations, Major General Babar Iftikhar said all stakeholders of Afghan issue should collectively find a solution to the problem and decide what will be better for their country. He said Pakistan will continue its efforts for a peaceful Afghanistan.

About Indian role in Afghanistan, Major General Babar Iftikhar said New Delhi is trying to propagate against Pakistan about Islamabad's role in Afghanistan, but is failing in its nefarious designs and getting attention of the world.

The head of the military’s media wing said that India's goal was to harm Pakistan by stepping into Afghanistan.

DG ISPR said that "India’s investment in Afghanistan appears to be sinking”.

“If India had invested in Afghanistan in good faith, then it would not have been disappointed today,” said the DG ISPR.

He added that New Delhi was trying to tell the world that Pakistan is the “cause of problems in Afghanistan”.

The DG ISPR said the United States has spent a lot of money on the training of the Afghan army and it is to be seen as to how the Afghan army will resist against Taliban.

Major Babar Iftikhar said up to 90 percent of Pak-Afghan fencing process has been completed and new wing of FC has been raised to strictly monitoring the border.

He said civil war in Afghanistan will not be beneficial for anyone as everyone knows about existence of Daesh and Tehreek-e-Taliban in Afghanistan.

He said the United States should ensure a responsible withdrawal from Afghanistan.
