PTI election symbol should be thief, not bat: Maryam
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Saturday slammed the PTI government, saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan should change his election symbol from bat to "thief", leveling charges once again of him ''stealing the elections."
Maryam was speaking at a rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Sharda town ahead of the July 25 elections there.
She once again spoke of elections being rigged. "The mention of Imran Khan's name now only brings to mind how the people were robbed of flour, sugar and Kashmir," she said.
"The elderly stood in line and they were given a mere 1.5 of sugar. Can 1.5 kg of sugar be enough for a house of 10 to 12 people?" she asked.
She said that when people think of her father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, they think of "motorways" and "progress".
She was sure her party would win these elections despite all the efforts to break the party and malign her father.
"Promise me you will guard your votes until the results are announced," she told the audience, saying they must come out to vote on July 25.
She said their party emblem "lion" will prove victorious in the elections.
She also tweeted pictures from the rally in a bid to show her followers of the support she and her party still garner.
