Moeed Yusuf denies meeting Israeli officials secretly
2 min readPakistan National Security Adviser (NSA) Dr Moeed Yusuf has strongly denied meeting Israeli officials after reports emerged of him making a secret visit to Tel Aviv.
The NSA took to Twitter to clarify that he did not visit Tel Aviv last November or met Mossad chief. In a tweet, he said:
“Very disappointed to be informed that the leader of a major political party has insinuated that I had secretly met Israeli officials. Let me state categorically and on record that I have not had any meetings with any Israeli officials nor have I visited Israel.”
The prime minister, Yusuf said, has been very clear in his stance that Pakistan shall continue to stand for Palestinians’ right to a just two-state solution.
Similar claims were made by an Israeli newspaper about former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tourism Zulfi Bukhari.
Israel Hayom, which claims to be Israel’s “free of charge” paper, reported today in its Hebrew edition that the Israeli military censor was lifted on the news that Bukhari visited Israel in November 2020. This revelation immediately caused a stir on social media because Bukhari had blatantly denied these allegations last year when the news first surfaced.
Bukhari was once again quick to reject the allegations again, pointing to the dubious nature of the news by calling the source “imaginative.”
