Federal cabinet to directly monitor development projects under PSDP, says Fawad
The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary on Tuesday said the federal cabinet has decided to monitor the implementation of development projects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
He was briefing media about decisions taken in the cabinet meeting held today in Islamabad under the chair of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Fawad Hussain said the federal government is working on a mechanism to ensure the timely availability of funds for the development projects.
The federal minister added that a third-party evaluation of the development projects will be carried out in order to ensure transparency. The annual PSDP for the fiscal year 2021-22 is 900 billion rupees, and most of the mega projects for Sindh will be financed from it, he added.
Fawad Hussain said the federal cabinet today has approved the implementation of Stormwater drains projects under the Karachi transformation program as well as National Digital Cable Policy (NDCP). Under the NDCP, cable quality will improve and cable operators will have more rights to purchase content.
