PM Khan receives Tajik President Emomali Rahmon at the PM House

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was received by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday at the Prime Minister House. The visiting dignitary was given a guard of honour upon his arrival.
Rahmon arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He was received by the Federal Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtriyar at Nur Khan Base.
The Tajik president is accompanied by a high-level delegation to hold discussions with Pakistani leadership on multilateral issues.
During his visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Rahmon will lead their respective sides in the delegation-level talks. The two sides will exchange views on deepening bilateral cooperation in diverse areas — including political, economic, trade, investment, energy, security and defense, culture, education, and regional connectivity.
A number of Agreements/MoUs are expected to be signed during the visit. The visiting dignitary will separately meet with President Dr. Arif Alvi.
"Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy close brotherly relations underpinned by the commonality of faith, shared history and cultural affinities." the FO said and added, "these ties are characterized by mutual respect, shared perceptions, and a common desire to promote peace, stability, and development in the region."
It is important to mention that President Rahmon has visited Pakistan seven times since 1994. His last bilateral visit was in November 2015.
