Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) leaders have blamed Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz's 'dictatorial attitude' for the rifts in Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDM), The News reported on Friday.

According to the details, a delegation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders led by Nayyar Bukhari traveled to Wali Bagh, the residence of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali on Thursday on the instructions of the PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The PPP delegation held talks with ANP leaders and discussed the evolving political situation of Pakistan.

While speaking to the media after the meeting, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said the PPP would take the decision of whether or not to quit the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) at its Central Executive Party meeting. They blamed the rifts in PDM on the dictatorial attitude of Maryam Nawaz.

The meeting took place after both PPP and ANP had been issued show-cause notices by the opposition alliance seeking explanation over the absence of leadership of two parties from PDM's meeting that took place on 2 April.

ANP announced to part ways with the PDM, saying the notices were an insult to the party meanwhile PPP has yet to respond to the notice.

According to the media reports, PPP has already drafted a response and called a meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) on April 11 which will discuss and approve the content.

The differences between PDM and PPP's stance started to emerge when PPP refused to participate in en-mass resignations from the provincial and national assemblies. And grew further over the appointment of opposition leader in Senate.

PDM had suggested opposition leader in Senate be from PML-N, however, instead of complying with the PDM's wishes PPP succeeded in the appointment of former premier Yusuf Raza Gillani as the opposition leader in the upper house of the Parliament.
