Pakistan to receive first batch of Cansino vaccine today, says Asad Umar
- First batch of procured Cansino vaccine will arrive in Pakistan today
- Pakistan will also receive the bulk vaccine from Cansino by mid-April which will allow the country to make 3 million vaccine doses
The federal minister for planning and development Asad Umar, on Tuesday, has said that the first batch of Cansino vaccine procured by the government will reach Pakistan today.
In a tweet. the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) chief said that "this is the vaccine in which Pakistan participated in phase 3 trials."
"The first batch of Cansino vaccine procured being received today. This is the vaccine in which Pakistan participated in phase 3 trials, which was the first time ever that Pakistan had done so for any vaccine."
The federal minister further shared that Pakistan will receive bulk vaccine by mid-April which will allow the country to make 3 million vaccine doses.
"We will be getting bulk vaccine by mid-April from Cansino from which 3 million vaccine doses can be made. The bulk vaccine received will be formulated, sterilized, and packed in Pakistan. For this purpose special equipment has been procured and manpower is being trained."
