Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday has asked Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former premier Nawaz Sharif to return to the country as differences emerge in opposition's alliance over future strategy, local media reported.

According to the details, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Fazalur Rehman and ousted premier Nawaz Sharif held a telephonic phone call on Wednesday after the opposition alliance announced on Tuesday that long march planned for 26 March.

During the conversation, both leaders have exchanged views on the political situation and the decisions taken by PDM. Fazl spoke to Sharif about the difficulties the anti-government alliance is facing regarding the implementation of decisions as the top leadership of PML-N is residing in a foreign country, The Nation reported while quoting unknown sources.

Differences emerged in PDM when PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari declared that his party’s lawmakers will not resign from the assemblies at any cost just before the alliance was about to meet for a key meeting on Tuesday.

These comments came after the former president Asif Ali Zardari held a long video call with Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz's (PML-N) supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

"Nawaz Sharif Sahab, if you are prepared to fight a war, you will have to return to your country," Zardari said and added, "If we all are out to fight, then we must all be prepared to go to jail. Everyone will have to face the hardships in this battle if we are in for a decisive battle for democracy," Geo News reported while quoting anonymous sources within PPP.

The PDM leadership announced to postponed the much-hyped long march after the opposition could not reach a mutual consensus over march and en-mass resignations as PPP expressed their reservations.
