Students in Punjab will not be promoted without examinations, says Murad Raas
Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas, while addressing a press conference on Tuesday, reiterated that no student will be promoted to the next grade without examination this year. The statement came as students protest against in-person examination due to the second wave of COVID-19
The provincial minister said that students have suffered a lot because schools were closed for 6 months during the first wave and for 1.75 months again during the second wave. “Exams would be held in May this year,” Murad maintained.
While briefing the media about coronavirus related standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other precautions designed for schools to ensure the safety of the students, Raas said that schools have been allowed to have only 50 percent strength.
The education minister also shared internal notification issued to the school authorities on his Twitter account.
