PM Khan vows to bring the killers of Machh coal miners to justice
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday vowed to bring the killers of Machh coal miners to justice. He also offered his condolences to the grieving families.
The premier took to Twitter to issue a statement after eleven coal miners belonging to the Hazara community were killed and four others were seriously injured after armed men opened fire at them at the Machh coalfield. In his tweet, Khan said:
"The condemnable killing of 11 innocent coal miners in Machh Balochistan is yet another cowardly inhumane act of terrorism. Have asked the FC to use all resources to apprehend these killers & bring them to justice. The families of the victims will not be left abandoned by the govt."
According to the details shared by the police, unknown armed men on Sunday attacked coalfields in Machh and took the miners to nearby mountains where they opened fire on them. Eleven were confirmed dead by police and the other injured were said to be in critical condition.
The injured were taken to the Machh hospital for treatment. Heavy contingents of police, local administration, and Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel cordoned off the area soon after the incident occurred.
