I only own a residence in Pakistan, have no properties abroad: Ishaq Dar
LONDON: Former Finance Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Ishaq Dar on Tuesday claimed that he had no properties abroad and only owned a residence in Pakistan that was already seized on the orders of the incumbent government.
Appearing on BBC's well-known talk show, HARDtalk, Ishaq Dar said that he visited London for his medical treatment which is currently ongoing.
“I owned a single property in Pakistan, which is now under the custody of the government while my children own a villa,” Dar replied when asked if he and his family had properties in London and Dubai.
Ishaq Dar further raised questions on the human rights violations when the HARDtalk’s anchor asked as to why he did not return to Pakistan to face the cases against him if he had nothing to hide against his properties and accounts.
"Well let's see what's happening in Pakistan," replied Dar. "Where are the human rights, what's happening in NAB (National Accountability Bureau) custody where dozens of people have been virtually killed. There are human rights abuses." NNI
