PM expresses anger over high food prices at motorway service areas
Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed anger over the sudden increase in prices of food items at motorway service areas.
According to details, a large number of citizens had lodged complaints on citizen portal against the high prices of food items at motorway rest areas.
PM, while taking notice of public complaints, ordered to take strict action against profiteers.
The Prime Minister's Delivery Unit has also issued a letter to the Ministry of Communications, National Highways Authority (NHA) and Inspector General (IG) Motorway in this regard.
On the occasion, Imran Khan said that strict action should be taken against illicit profiteers and a special team should be appointed to monitor prices at rest areas along motorway.
“Teams should regularly raid motorway rest areas throughout day and night and help from district administration can also be taken in this regard,” he said.
