Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on Monday, criticized the federal government's decision to overtake two Sindh islands, Bundal and Buddo, through a presidential ordinance without consulting with the parliament. PPP's chairman equated the move to Modi's decision of annexing occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In a tweet, Bilawal said:

"The Pakistan People’s Party will oppose the illegal annexation of Sindh’s Islands through Presidential ordinance by the PTI government. I ask how is this act any different from Modi’s actions in occupied Kashmir? The move will be opposed in the National, Provincial Assembly & the Senate."

According to the details, President Arif Alvi, on 31st August, had promulgated The Pakistan Islands Development Authority (PIDA) Ordinance, 2020. According to the Ordinance No XI OF 202O, the authority is established for "the development and management of the Islands in the internal and territorial water of Pakistan."

The ordinance further noted that "the Senate and the National Assembly are not in session and the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is satisfied that thee circumstances exist which render it necessary to take immediate action".
