The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the government to make the judicial commission’s report on Army Public School (APS) incident public

According to the details, the Supreme Court has ordered to make public, the report of the Commission of Inquiry and the Federal Government regarding the Army Public School attack.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court heard the APS suo moto notice case. The court ordered that the report of the commission of inquiry and the federal government’s response to it be made public.

The apex court directed the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Khalid Jawed Khan to publicize judicature comments on the JC report on APS attack case. Amanullah has been amicus curiae to assist the court.

It is pertinent to remember that the commission set up to probe the Army Public School attack had sent its report to the Supreme Court in July 2020 after completing its proceedings.

The commission’s report is 3,000 pages long.

The commission recorded the statements of 132 people, including the parents of the children who were martyred in the tragedy.

Statements from 101 witnesses and 31 police, army, and other officers have also been recorded.

On 16 December 2014 gunmen stormed the Army Public School in the northern city of Peshawar. More than 150 people were martyred, 132 of them children.

More than 1,000 students, from preschool to high school, were on the campus when the attack began. Militants entered classrooms and auditoriums and opened fire on students and teachers.
