China welcomes Iran, other countries on joining CPEC: Yao Jing
Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing said that US accuses China for the spread of COVID-19 because of its failure in containing the spread of virus.
Speaking exclusively in AajNews talk show Spot Light the ambassador said that COVID-19 is a big challenge to international community. He said that China was the first country which was tested positive for this virus.
China had started its research for developing the vaccine for COVID-19 since the beginning of this year, he said.
He said that Chinese companies and research institutions have developed three kinds of vaccines and were put onto volunteers test. China is also developing the vaccine in cooperation with Pakistani pharmaceutical companies.
He said that China has started discussion related to the cooperation of developing vaccine with Pakistan since May, 2020.
When the vaccine would be successfully developed Pakistani people would be among the first to benefit from this vaccine.
Speaking about the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) he said that the incumbent government of Pakistan has taken institutional measures to speed up projects under CPEC. CPEC projects will directly benefit Balochistan, he added.
He said that Asim Saleem Bajwa is performing his duties very well.
He said Shehbaz Sharif is good friend of China and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has good relations with China. China is satisfied with every Pakistani government, he added.
The ambassador said that ML-1 project needs a huge investment. Visit of Chinese president Xi Jinping is not connected with inauguration of projects.
He said that Orange Line project should have been completed in 2018.
Yao expressed satisfaction over security in Pakistan and said that security situation in Pakistan has improved.
He said there was no option other than SCO and said that China welcomes Iran and other countries on joining CPEC.
The ambassador said that different countries are taking their positions regarding the Kashmir issue however US accusations on China are baseless.
