Economy was on the right track before coronavirus pandemic, says Raza Baqir
Governor State Bank of Pakistan Raza Baqir has said that the economy was on right track before the COVID-19 pandemic and that State Bank has taken various measures against coronavirus.
Speaking exclusively in Aaj News talk show Rubaroo, Raza Baqir said the recent rise in inflation is temporary due to supply disruptions.
He said that SBP has taken several measures to protect the economy against coronavirus. The current account deficit has been reduced to $ 3 billion dollars from $ 13 billion, he added.
He said that demand is not the cause of the recent rise in inflation, it is due to supply disruption.
He said that the funds Pakistan received from friendly countries have been spent on payment of the debt.
