Park lane case: Court postpones Zardari's indictment
The Accountability Court postponed indictment of the former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Park Lane case and adjourned the hearing till July 14.
The Lawyer of Asif Ali Zardari Farooq H Naek filed a petition seeking nullification of Park Lane reference filed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and said the case is loan defaulting was a matter concerning the State Bank of Pakistan. When someone defaults on a loan, the State Bank governor approves a reference against them and a notice is sent.
On the other hand, The Accountability Court issued notice to NAB on the plea filed by Asif Ali Zardari, to which the NAB prosecutor said that we have received the notice and we are ready to give a reply today and urged the court to indict all the accused including Asif Zardari.
However, Asif Zardari’s lawyer pleaded the court for more time to prepare his arguments.
On Monday the court decided to postpone the indictment of all the accused including former president Asif Zardari and adjourned the hearing till July 14.
