India's brutal crackdown in Occupied Kashmir pushed entire region to a deeper crisis: WSJ
Leading international daily Wall Street Journal says India`s brutal crackdown in Occupied Kashmir has pushed the entire region to a deeper crisis.               Â
In its report, the paper says through forceful annexation and change in status of the disputed Kashmir region, India has lost the hearts and minds of Kashmiri people.
The paper further notes that Indian authorities have arrested hundreds of political leaders, activists, businessmen, students and teachers and have declined to allow the media or their supporters to meet them.
The paper quotes an Indian professor Happymon Jacob as saying that the Indian government did not take this decision after consulting political leaders because it knew there wouldn’t have been a consensus and now all these political parties will come together and rally under one banner, with a common demand which would be the reinstatement of Article 370.—RadioPakistan
