WASHINGTON: United States Defence Secretary Jim Mattis has expressed the desire to work with Pakistan to defeat terrorists. 

He said this while signing the order for deployment of additional American troops in Afghanistan as part of new US strategy for South Asia.

Asked what kind of relationship the United States would like to keep with Pakistan, he said Washington intends to work with Islamabad to take the terrorists down.

Mattis announced that American troops in Afghanistan will not only train Afghan national security forces but have also been authorized to engage the enemy.— Radio Pakistan
