WEB DESK: Sometimes you go for healthy food items thinking to eat clean. It is good to develop such a healthy habit but you might be consuming more sugar than you think while trying to avoid it.

Yogurt
Flavored yogurt is everyone's favorite and people think it is a healthy alternative for sweets/deserts. However, it is not correct. Jennifer Jackson, MD, of Ascension Via Christi Health says,""Despite the small carton size and association as a healthy food, a typical low-fat strawberry yogurt can contain 26 grams of sugar per serving." So, go for plain or greek yogurt which has less sugar and more protein. You can always add any fruit or nut to make it tastier.
Instant oatmeal
Oatmeal is one of healthiest foods but the instant ones have 14 grams of sugar per packet which is not healthy to consume of course. Dr. Jackson here suggests,""Use one half-cup of whole oats with a half-cup of milk. Soak overnight in the fridge and you will have perfect fluffy oats to eat the next morning."
Salad dressing
Salad dressing is essential when you really to want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and have to eat greens more. But once fat is removed from these prepared dressings, only sugar is left which is why experts suggest to avoid them. It would be healthier if dressing for salads prepared at home.
Sports and energy drinks
Sports and energy drinks surely energize you but that energy or boost usually come from the amount of caffeine and sugar of the product. Each serving contains 14 or more grams of sugar. So, basically these drinks are made for people who prefer intense workout of 60-90 minutes. Therefore, it is suggested to consume energy filled foods than these drinks.
Non-dairy milk
Cow's milk contains natural sugar from a compound lactose found in milk whereas non-dairy milk is usually loaded with additional sugar. Different varieties of non-dairy milk contains different amount of sugar. In case, if you are looking for healthy options, go for unsweetened or light ones.
