Jane Goodall: Seeds of Hope

The popular book 'seeds of hope' was accused of plagiarism as this book had copied content from various websites which surprisingly included Wikipedia. The author, Jane Goodall, however, republished the book claiming it was poor 'note taking' and a 'careless mistake'.

J. K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

You won't believe but yet, Harry Potter was too accused of copying content from late author, Adrian Jacob's book, 'the adventures of Willy the Wizard'. However, after the Court of Appeal's order to pay £1.5m as security of costs, the claim failed because no payment was made to the court.

Kaavya Viswanathan: How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild and Got a Life

It was a debut book of a Harvard student, Kaavya Viswanathan, but it was tagged as very similar to author Megan McCafferty's book Sloppy First and Second Helpings. It was later claimed by author that 'similarities' was unintentional but it was resulted in cancellation of her other book and movie deal.

Stephenie Meyer: Breaking Dawn

A claim was made that some parts of 'breaking dawn' was taken from author's lesser known novel 'the nocturne'. Later, a cease and deceit order was sent to the publication department and request for a copy of the book was made which however, never received. The publication released a statement in this regard that,"The Twilight Saga is entirely the creation of Ms Meyer...This claim is frivolous and will be defended vigorously."

 

Dan Brown: Da Vinci Code

It was indeed Brown's most successful book but it was said that its story line and plot was taken from other two books, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail another was filed by author Lewis Perdueand. A copyright case was filed too but those claims were proven to be wrong.
