Deserts in Saudi Arabia covered in Snow
Saudi Arabia, which is known as one of the desert kingdom of the world, has been covered with snow in an unlikely event on Tuesday after temperatures dropped below zero degrees Celsius in central and northwestern regions of the country.Â
Since it is not every winter that this desert experiences snowfall, Saudis were amazed with this sudden climate change. Making most of the unlikely event, Saudis also enjoyed every bit of it.
In the central city of Shakra and the northwestern city of Tabuk, thin layers of snow carpeted the ground, Saudi Gazette said in a report.
In Tabarjal, a town located in the northern Al-Jawf region temperatures reached -3 degree Celsius, and in Al-Quryat, a northern province, the temperature was -1 degree Celsius.
Civic authorities have issued warning and advisories for the people to stay safe during the unseasonal snowfall.
