Do we finally have answers about the Bermuda Triangle mystery?
The Bermuda Triangle has remained one of the biggest unsolved mysteries in the modern era, with many conspiracy theories linked to it. It seems as if the scientists have finally solved this mystery after all.
The new theory was showcased in the Science Channel's "What on Earth?" series. In which scientists were of the view, that the cloud configurations at the Bermuda Triangle could be the cause of some of the mysteries regarding the 500,000 square mile "triangle", making it the stuff of legends.
"These types of hexagonal shapes over the ocean are in essence, 'air bombs','' Dr Randy Cerveny of Arizona State University told the Science Channel.
"They're formed by what are called microbursts. They're blasts of air that come down out of the bottom of the clouds and hit the ocean, and they create waves that can sometimes be massive in size once they start to interact with each other."
The storms generated from these cloud formation are said to be so powerful that ships and planes can be plunged into the sea in an instant, reported The Independent.
The Bermuda Triangle first made headlines during the 1950s when a large number of ships and planes disappeared in the region.
