Explosion rocks Quetta's Civil hospital, several feared dead

QUETTA: At least 50 feared dead while 55 got injured when an early morning explosion took place on Monday in Quetta’s Civil Hospital, Aaj News reported. 

According to hospital sources, at least 50 people were killed and 55 got injured in the blast that took place in the emergency department of the hospital. Several lawyers were injured in the explosion reportedly.

According to the reports, media persons were also there when this incident took place.

Shahzad Khan, a cameraman associated with Aaj TV, was reportedly martyred in the blast. According to the reports, Shahzad was associated with Aaj News for the past seven year. He always fulfilled his duty in every situation, even he lost his life during the coverage of blast. The dead body of Shahzad Khan has been shifted to his house from CMH Hospital.

Police said that unknown men also opened fire after the blast. After this incident, panic tore through the hospital.

The blast occurred after Balochistan Bar Association’s president was gunned Town on Munnu Jaan road of the city.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the assassination of President Balochistan Bar Association Bilal Kasi and Quetta blast.

In his message, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Interior and the provincial government to hunt down the perpetrators of this brutal act.
