Discipline your child Princess Kate's way

WEB DESK: Britain's toddler Prince George is in the "terrible threes" but royal parents William and Kate are disciplining him so he doesn't turn into a monster monarch, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

Middleton, 34, is bringing up the future King of England in a very modern way that she got her advice on child-rearing from books like Positive Discipline: The First Three Years and The Happiest Toddler on the Block.

Prince William said after his son's birthday that was definitely over indulged. "He got too many things. He's far too spoiled."

Middleton is trying to discipline him in the most royal way possible. Instead of "time out," she says, "let's take a break" when George is being super naughty – chasing pet pooch Lupo with a stick or pinching his sister, Charlotte, for example. Mum stays while George goes to a corner of his room and plays with a special "calming" toy or fuzzy book.

When George is screaming or won't listen, the Duchess of Cambridge sings his favorite songs or puts on his favorite African drumming music to help calm him.

If George throws a tantrum on the playground, he gets one warning before being taken home. If he doesn't stop, he's hauled home — even kicking and screaming.

George sometimes refuses to eat, throwing his meal on the floor and making barfing sounds, according to insiders. If that goes down, then he then has to help clean it up! And there is no substitute food. It's either eat or go to bed hungry! So he usually eats. Once in a while, he just gets a glass of milk for dinner.

When the future King of England wants something he can't have — like an electric Ferrari for kids — and throws a fit, the Duchess pretends to be a three-year-old, gets down on the floor and screams she wants a Ferrari! When George sees how silly this looks, he usually breaks out laughing.

Since William and Kate fear embarrassing public tantrums, the minute George looks like he might go ballistic, a nanny takes him home, or he has to go inside. He hates that, so he's pretty motivated not to freak out.
