Anwar Maqsood's 'Siachen' will play this September

KARACHI: Anwar Maqsood's new stage drama 'Siachen' is set to get the audience roaring with laughter this September.

The controversial Siachen glacier has been reason for war between India and Pakistan in 1999. In the veteran writer's new play Siachen will be seen in a new light.

In an interview, with Voice of America, the director Dawar Mehmood claimed that this upcoming drama is different than the others, as the story will evolve around a Pakistan army man who received a Cow instead of a goat for Eid-ul-Azha.

Mehmood further added that people will love how Anwar Maqsood molded this serious issue into a humorous subject.

Veteran writer Maqsood has produced masterpieces such as Half Plate, Paunay Chauda August, Sawa Chaudha August and Aangan Terha.

The play will be produced by KopyKat Production. The cast will include new faces and auditions for the play will be held on May 9th in Islamabad.

The play is expected to be staged in September in Islamabad. And Karachi will host the drama in October.
