66th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam observed in KP, Fata

PESHAWAR: The 66th death anniversary of Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was observed with great reverence and respect in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA on Thursday with a renewed pledge to strictly adhere to his golden principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline.
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques where people offered special Dua for eternal peace to Quaid's soul and progress, peace and prosperity of the country.
Quran Khawani was also held in mosques for eternal peace of the soul of the great leader, who created a separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia on Aug 14, 1947.
Various social, political and educational organizations arranged different functions, seminars, talks shows, peace walks etc to highlight different aspects of the life of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who successfully led the Muslims of the subcontinent in a long and difficult struggle and created a separate homeland for them.
The PML-N has also arranged a function in connection with the death anniversary of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and organised Quran Khwani for eternal peace of the great leader.
The speakers also highlighted different aspects of the life of Jinnah on this occasion.
Debate competitions were also held in different schools and colleges where the speakers paid rich tributes to the long services of legendary leader, who ruled over the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people.
In this connection, a debate competition was arranged at Greenwich Grammar School Peshawar where speakers paid glowing tributes to the Father of the Nation.
Paras Ahmed, an 11th grade student said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a towering personality of 20th Century, who had changed the course of history and world geography through a peaceful and constitutional struggle.
The Quaid's slogan of 'Unity, Faith and Discipline' had inspired the Muslims of the subcontinent to achieve a separate state in South Asia, he added.
Laiba Ejaz, an eighth grade student said Jinnah desired that every citizen should have equal opportunities of education, health, progress, freedom, justice and fair play and it is a high time to follow his principles to address issues faced by the country today.
The others speakers stressed on the need of unity, faith and discipline for making all-out efforts to make the country a progressive and democratic Islamic welfare state as envisioned by the charismatic leader.
