Salman Butt to be released from London jail

The former Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt possibly to be released from the London Jail on Wednesday and will be deported to Pakistan on Thursday, Sources said.

Butt will be released 9 months before the period for his good behavior during his punishment.

London government will provide him 1500pounds of travelling expenses.

On November 3, former Test captain Butt, 27, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and promising fast bowler Aamer, 19, was ordered to serve six months in a young offenders' institution.

Salman Butt who have been withdrawn from Pakistan's upcoming T20 games, was sentenced and have also been banned by the International Cricket Council from playing the sport for five years.

It was alleged that the players (Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif,) were involved in spot fixing, whereby no-balls were deliberately bowled during the fourth test match against England at Lord's.

Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, the three Pakistan cricketers accused and punished of spot fixing in May 2011.

Salman Butt still has 18 months jail term remaining. The younger son, whom Salman has not met yet, was born minutes after the former captain was found guilty of “spot fixing” scam along with Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir.

Earlier, Muhammad asif was released in May,2012.

While, Muhammad Aamir was set earlier this year after serving his 6 month jail term.
