Google Executive Chairman & former CEO Eric Schmidt visits Pakistan

Pakistan: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani asked Google Inc Chairman Eric Emerson Schmidt to assist Pakistan in its programme of establishing worldwide service centers at union councils all over the country.
He said that Pakistan was witnessing swift expansion in internet espousal at a growth rate of 120% throughout the precedent years.
He also said that the number of broadband internet users has outdistanced the seven million mark. This intensification is likely to persist in the future, as more individuals will join the cyber world.
Ten million ventures have been announced will also contribute alongside Google’s societal innovation fund.
PM Gillani also underscored the need of utilizing technology for electronic anthology of data about cross-border movements between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which will facilitate track down illegitimate immigrants and terrorists.
