Case registered against Osama’s family for illegally entering Pakistan

Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik on Thursday said Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against family of Osama Bin Laden for entering and staying in Pakistan illegally.

He was talking to mediapersons after attending an exhibition held here at Tanzara Art Gallery in connection with the International Women Day.

Rehman Malik said the family of Osama has all legal rights to defend their case in the court of law and added three days ago they have been shifted in a house which is declared as sub-jail.

The Minister said Osama's family is on judicial remand and they would be only allowed to proceed to other country only after meeting all legal requirements. "We leave everything to court," he added.

Replying to a question, he said case has been registered against only adult family members as his children are free to move wherever they want to.

The Minister said President Asif Ali Zardari has directed early implementation of Aghaz-e-haqooq-e-Balochistan package and added around 85 per cent implementation on the package has already been completed.

The Minister said empowerment of women is part of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) manifesto and it would continue its efforts for their welfare. He said the government firmly believes that without active role of women Pakistan cannot progress, so one can see women working in different fields and they are performing well.
