Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the government is initiating various measures to transform prisons into real reformation centres for inmates.

This he said while speaking on the occasion of handing over consignment of arms and ammunition to jail authorities here on Wednesday.

He said the government is providing arms and other equipment worth Rs 34 million to ensure security of the jails.

The chief minister said there is no political prisoner in any jail of the province as PPP doesn't believe in the politic of revenge.

Earlier, Secretary prisons Dost Ali Baloch briefed about the measures being taken to improve the condition of the prisons and welfare of the inmates.
