Polling ends in PS-53 by-elections
The polling process closed at 5 pm in the by-elections on PS-53 constituency of Sindh Assembly in Tando Muhammad Khan district. According to the Returning officer of the Election Commission Ali Asghar Siyal, the vote count will be completed in the next few hours. The polling started more than an hour after the scheduled time of 8 am. Syed Wahida Shah Bukhari of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Mir Mushtaq Ali Talpur, an independent candidate, are among the contestants. The seat had remained with the PPP since the general elections in 1988. 113,459 voters were registered in the constituency.
