TTP affiliate claims Peshawar blast responsibility

A Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan affiliate organisation known as Abdullah Azzam Brigade, has claimed responsibility of the attack on Peshawar police station.

The attack resulted in deaths of three policemen including an SHO early morning on Friday. The new faction claims that they have avenged the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Badar Mansoor in a recent US drone attack.

IG Shafqat who is the head of bomb disposal squad, thinks that the bomb blast at the Kohat road bus station is connected to today's blasts because of the similarity in ammunition. finger prints and body remains of the attackers have also been obtained for DNA tests.

He said that the three attacks were conducted on the police station with 7 kg of high quality explosive material including ball bearings.

Information Minister Khyber Pakhtun-Khwa Mian Iftikhar said that the attackers from both incidents resemble each other and could be brothers connected with TTP.

The Chief of Police Imtiaz Altaf revealed, three suicide bombers detonated their bombs as they were faced by the police inside the police station. The  militants began to attack with gun firing and hand grenades resulting in three policemen  including a sub inspector's death.
