President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated the nation, members of parliament as well as the leaders of all political parties over the unanimous approval of the 20th Constitutional Amendment by the National Assembly on Tuesday.The President in his message said the unanimous approval of the 20th Constitutional Amendment Bill, which was aimed at ensuring free, fair and transparent electoral process under an independent election commission, would help further strengthen democracy and democratic system in the country.

He said the unanimous passage of the 20th Constitutional Amendment by the National Assembly also demonstrated the political sagacity and wisdom of all the political forces in the parliament.
The President also congratulated Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani for taking all the political parties on board in the important legislations.
He said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) believed in the politics of reconciliation and harmony, which was also evident from the unanimous passage of the 18th and 19th Constitutional Amendments from the Parliament.
