US national William Charles was arrested at the Peshawar airport on Tuesday morning. The police found 17 9mm pistols and numerous 9mm bullets  in his possession, AajNews reported.

Sources revealed, that the US national was traveling on flight PK218 which was heading to Islamabad from Peshawar when he was detained by the ASF personnel.

William Charles is employed by the American consulate in Peshawar.

According to a local news channel, the Airport Security Force Pakistan arrested the American citizen and took him into custody for additional questioning.

But later on found out through Government sources, the US diplomat has immunity and he would be handed over to the consulate along with a letter, stating the violation of Pakistani law and carrying illegal weapon.
