Nation needs a real leadership: Nawaz
Pakistan Muslim League-N President Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday his party would bring about a real and practical change in the country and put it on the road to progress and prosperity.
Addressing students during a ceremony to distribute laptops at Bahauddin Zakariya University, he said the PML N had brought about changes in the country during its previous tenures. He said that some elements were raising hollow slogans for change. "Efforts are being made to change cultural values in the name of politics," he added.
He said the PML-N had a revolutionary thinking as it had showed it in previous tenures by launching different development projects and taking the country on top in progress and prosperity in the whole region.
Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan was ahead of India in his tenures.
"Our both governments were dislodged due to a revolutionary stance of the party. The PML-N would compensate for injustice to people of the country, he added.
He recalled that the PML-N had launched the optic fibre project 21 years ago. He said that laptops were being distributed on merit. "The Punjab government will offer another 300,000 laptops to students after June as the PML-N always attached preference to education for development," he said and congratulated laptop winning students.
He also congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for launching schemes for promotion of education.
He also paid tribute to late Arfa Kareem and said an IT tower had been named after her.
The PML-N chief said his party was ready to spend a huge amount to educate the masses. He expressed happiness that a guard of honour was presented to intelligent and hardworking students.
He urged students to concentrate on education and respect their teachers and parents. He said he would hold talks with the Punjab chief minister for a University of Engineering and Technology and an Agriculture University in Multan.
MNA Rana Mehmoodul Hassan, Advisor to CM Zulfiqar Khosa, Senator Pervez Rasheed, Minister Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, MPAs Aamir Ansari and Ch Abdul Waheed Aarain were also present.
