Firdous urges Punjab govt to bring to book accused involved in PIC deaths

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Wednesday urged the Punjab government to bring to book the accused allegedly involved in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) deaths instead of resorting to political point scoring over a serious public issue. Answering a question during a cabinet briefing, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said, “The federal government is ready to extend all out assistance to Punjab government for exposing elements involved in the business of counterfeit drugs.” The minister said it was unfortunate that Punjab government was trying to shun its duties by shifting onus to the federal government. “Free, fair and transparent investigation into the issue should be conducted rather than indulging in blame game,” the minister said.
